A few more of us

Here are a couple more of my little family. While I love taking pictures, I find it quite awkward to be on the other side, and don't really like it.
So rest assured, these are the only ones of us you will see. It's funny because most people tell me they only "need one good one" for a family picture- and I am no different. I found the one that will go on my wall as a canvas.
Oh, and by the way, I am going to attempt a Pinterest "DIY" canvas.... so if it's any good I will post some photos- wish me luck!

Our Family, Our Town

I had a great family session tonight... it was my own! I'm usually not much of a fan for orchard pics, mostly because they have been done so much, but the cherries are an exception. I have been patiently waiting for them to come in, and BAM, I blindsided my husband for pics- on the first official day of summer no less.

This is the sunset in Genola, within walking distance from our home. If you are looking for unique family pics, this area hasn't been "shot to death". Such pretty country.

Here is my little family. Me, Brett, and our little Brian- it's funny how attached to the little creatures you get.
Hope everyone is having a great summer so far!

Baby Xander

This is baby Xander, and he is so cute! It is also my first official newborn shoot.
We got some great shots, and I learned so much and what to better study, plan, prepare, and think about for the next one. So if you or anyone you know is pregnant, I will give a great price to gain more experience/practice.

Summer!

It is summer at our house- and we are so far loving every minute of it!
I had always wondered where the phrase "Dog days of Summer" came from- and I of course googled it.
So here you have it.

Back during the time of ancient Rome, people living around the Mediterranean Sea noticed that the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, rose and set with the Sun during mid-summer. Sirius is also known as the dog star and is part of the constellation called Canis Major, or the Big Dog.
Sirius is so bright, that it is believed ancient Romans thought it contributed to the heating of the Earth.
Because Sirius rose and set with the Sun, known as conjunction, the period of the year 20 days before the conjunction and 20 days after became known as the dog days of summer, when temperatures were usually very hot and crops got little rain.
Although real dogs tend to pant more during the summer because of the heat, they really don't have anything to do with the origination of the phrase "dog days of summer."
This is right by our house in Genola, and right on my hiking route, and if you plan it just right, it has just about the prettiest sunset ever!

Our neighbors raise hounds, and this is their newest addition, a little female named Lucky. She is so dang cute, and even little Brian thinks so too ;)

Krystina Bridals

We did Krystina's Bridals earlier this month at Louland Falls, and it is such an awesome place! Can't wait for their wedding there next month. I wanted to post a few pics from our session without showing too many. After the wedding I will show more. These are the same ones that were featured on Facebook (with her permission of course).

I never mentioned how I got to be the photographer for this couple. They originally had another photog for their wedding, but because of her pregnancy complications she asked if it was ok to refer them to me. With only one day until their engagement session I was very nervous, but once meeting the couple I couldn't have been more happy and excited to be their new photographer. I think Krystina may possibly be the most beautiful bride ever, I had the hardest time narrowing down the photos because there was never a bad one. Enjoy- and please check out and "LIKE" my facebook page, Foxtography by LC to see my most current work.

Chris and Krystina

I posted a few from this couple already, but wanted to catch up and post some of my favorites from their April engagement session. They are getting married next month and I can't wait for their wedding! I will post some of their bridal session next.
People always ask where photos were taken, and these were taken in a few different locations throughout Lehi.
